Changes to Solar Rules are here
<< BackHi All,
Update, 24/1/18. Ok, so the new rules are in place and it mostly affects those who have a single-phase electricity connection at their properties. Those with single-phase are able to have a 5kW inverter maximum, but we have recently found out we can still put 6.6kW or 6600 watts onto that inverter, as this system is big enough for most households it won't be a big issue for most solar customers. Or so we thought, turns out you can still have a larger (up to 10kW) inverter on single phase BUT you must limit the amount of power it can feed back to the grid to 5kW, we have a solution for this.
So back in March this year we found out that the new Australian Standards for Solar Installs would be bought into South Australia, well it looks like they are set to arrive at the end of this month, November 2017.
What does this mean for the people who are looking to install solar in South Australia now? Ok, so currently you are able to install up to a 10kW (10,000 watts) solar system if you have a single-phase electricity supply at your house and if you have a 3 phase electricity supply you can have up to 30kW or 10kW per phase.
If you have three phase power you will now have to keep the phases equal so we could have 4kW on each phase for a total of 12kW or 6kW on each phase for a total of 18kW.
If you have any questions or queries call 08 8391 6602 and speak to one of our Solar Pros.
Cheers.
